Honeywell Analytics Product Application and Training Support (PATS) team is committed to improving the competence and confidence of our customers – internal and external – by providing the highest quality application and sales training on our industry leading gas detection products.

 

Our Instructors:

  Mike Holmes – Commercial and High Tech

Michael Holmes has been with Honeywell Analytics and the gas detection industry for over 20 years supporting a wide range of industry focused applications ranging from commercial spaces, light and heavy industrial, semiconductor and food processing industries.

Mike is based in Texas and covers primarily North America with ties to global support as a subject mater expert. Mike’s education includes an Associate degree in Electronics and a Bachelors Degree in Management.

   Dave Lucha – RAE Portables US

Dave Lucha currently is the Technical Trainer/Product Specialist for Honeywell’s RAE Systems. He has been with RAE since February of 2004. Dave has a degree in Electronics Technology. He started his career at RAE as a repair technician. Gradually he moved into the Technical Support department and was its manager from 2007-2012. In April of 2012, Dave became the Technical Trainer where he supports and provides user and service training for the RAE product line to members of the US Army National Guard Civil Support Teams, technicians from Authorized Distributors and many Fire Department Hazmat team.  Other courses he teaches include the Meshguard Systems and other wireless products from RAE Systems.   Dave’s second language is Spanish and he is a licensed USSF soccer (futbol) referee. 

  Andrew Saunders – Portables US

Andrew Saunders has conducted hundreds of gas detection sales/technical product workshops across the United States and internationally. As a Subject Matter Expert on portable safety gas detection, Drew provides technical support to internal and external customers around the world. Over the years Drew has produced numerous Technical Notes on a variety of portable gas detection topics, and has authored a number of gas detection related articles that have been published in Trade Magazines globally.

Drew has a degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from Youngstown State University and over 30 years experience in the gas detection industry. During this time he has held positions such as Quality Assurance Manager (CQT), Manufacturing Manager, Regional Sales Manager and Product Manager. Drew is currently Vice Chairman on the Instruments Group for ISEA (International Safety Equipment Association) and Task Group Chairman for Gas Monitoring/Evaluations of Atmospheric Hazards (Chapter 7) of the NFPA Technical Writing committee for "Best Practices Guide for Confined Space Entry and Work NFPA 350".

  Charles Simek – Industrial and Flame

Charles Simek has been with Fire Sentry since 2000 and joined Honeywell Analytics as part of the acquisition in 2012. He has served the Industrial Fire and Gas Detection Industry for 30 years and has been a member of the NFPA Building Safety Section for the last 14 years. Charles is a Subject Matter Expert on Electro-Optical Flame Detectors and is currently based in Pasadena, Texas working for the Honeywell Analytics’ Marketing Team for the Premium Line of Fixed Gas and Flame Detection Equipment, focusing on Training, Industrial Applications, and Product Technology.

He has worked as an Electronics Technician, Technical Writer, Training Coordinator, Inside Sales Manager, Regional Sales Manager, Sales Manager, Account Manager, Business Development Manager, and is currently employed as a Product and Technology Specialist. Charles holds a degree in Applied Science of Electronic Engineering and received a Certificate for Technical Writing from the California State University in Fullerton.

Mike Vigil  – Portables US

Mike began his career in gas detection in 2000 with BW Technologies. Prior to his role as DSC Manager and Product Specialist he worked as a service technician, gaining experience on both the BW and RAE product lines. He became a certified trainer of our BW Service Repair course in 2016. Mike has an Associate’s degree in Electronics Engineering from ITT Technical Institute. Outside of the office he enjoys fishing, swimming, running, working out, and food.

  Jim Willis  – Portables Canada

Jim has been with Honeywell since 2007. He spent much of that time honing his skills in gas detection as a service technician. He has also served as the training coordinator and conducted numerous service repair courses. Jim is a subject matter expert for all Honeywell portable gas detection products.

Jim holds a degree in Electronics Engineering from Southern Alberta Institute of Technology. He is also a designated Toast Master and club coach. Outside of the office Jim can often be found outdoors especially on the water, or on the Dodgeball court.
